Position vs Time graphs are a fun introduction to the study of graphs. Not just because of the exhilarating detail to creating a thorough graph, but the equipment able to be used to monitor the motion. Timers, Meter Sticks, Motion Detectors, and Vernier Graphical Analysis are all pieces of equipment that I have been able to introduce students to through the study of position vs time graphs.
Students also can learn a greater understanding of principles of velocity, distance, acceleration and time. The visual helps students create more in depth equations.
